Elf occurs as 2003 American comedy film written by David Berenbaum and directed by Jon Favreau. It was freed in the US on November 7, 2003.

When Elf begins, an baby within an orphanage crawls into Santa's sack of toys one Christmas and is accidentally taken to the North Pole. Santa (played by Ed Asner) decides to allow the tike, world health organization he list "Buddy" fallowing the label in his diaper, to be raised by an elf (played by Bob Newhart) who has there is no toddlers of his have. When Pal grows (played as an adult by Will Ferrell), he is raised as an elf; his immense stature & deficiency of toymaking skills pose awkward questions that his adoptive father high-pressure waves away. When a string of accidents where his non-elfness becomes conspicuous, Pappa Elf eventually breaks the news to Sidekick that he was adopted. Overwhelmed per news, Pal walks to New York City to find his biological father Walter (portrayed by James Caan), who occurs as cold-hearted children's book publishing executive.

Tremendously of the film's comedy arises from either Brother's want of noesis all about "normal" human behavior & a conflicts between his naïve, merry attitude and a hostile attitude of numerous Just released Yorkers. Several of the jaded humans he meets there is no protracted imagine within Santthe & imagine Chum is only a colorful eccentric wearing yellow leotards & singing carols. Although at first skeptical of Pal's uncontrollable nature and severity, the miss known as Jovie (played by Zooey Deschanel) begins to fall in love sustaining him.

A picture climaxes after Pal meets Santa over againside in Central Park and helps fix his sleigh, which is powered by Christmas spirit.
